AFEM New Member Update – BackstageMinds
BackstageMinds emerged in 2021 as the first project dedicated to providing psychological support to electronic music professionals in Brazil. The project took root when Lara was invited to speak at the renowned Warung School for DJs, explored the challenges of mental health within the industry, finding scarce resources in Brazil.
Their range of services includes specialized psychotherapy for artists and event teams. Backstageminds’ psychologists also offer support during the tour, ensuring presence on stage if necessary. In addition, they lead harm reduction efforts on the dance floor, offering psychological support in situations such as Bad Trips, as well as information on substances and testing with colorimetric reagents.
Backstageminds is not just a support system; it’s a movement transforming the electronic music scene.
