Transmissions NYC: AFEM and Resident Advisor present a half-day summit at Elsewhere
On Thursday 18 June, AFEM and Resident Advisor present Transmissions NYC: Plugging In To The Electronic Music Sector, a half-day summit at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. Programmed as part of New York Music Month with support from the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, the afternoon brings together labels, artists, nightlife operators, technologists and policymakers for three panels and a closing industry mixer.
The programme works through three questions facing the sector right now: how independent labels hold their ground in a consolidating market, where NYC club culture goes from here, and what the spread of AI means for creation, rights and revenue.

Staying Alive: How Indie Labels Are Approaching Change brings together Steven Hill (Head of North America & Global Marketing, Warp Records), Aaron Schultz (Owner, Bastard Jazz Recordings) and Laura Lyons (US Label Head, XL Recordings + Young Recordings), moderated by Alyssa Vera (Director of Membership, North America, AFEM).
Machine Music: An Industry View On AI brings together Kurosh Nasseri (Co-Founder & Co-Chair, AFEM), Rithik Kundu (Managing Partner & Strategic Advisor, Joker Deck Ventures), Heidi Sabretooth (Artist & Co-Founder, Synth Library NYC) and Ralph Boege (Managing Director, Paradise Worldwide), moderated by Nyshka Chandran (Senior Editor, North America, Resident Advisor).
Last Call: The State Of NYC Club Culture brings together Jeffrey Garcia (Executive Director, NYC Office of Nightlife), Ladyfag (L3LF Productions / LadyLand) and Rami Haykal-Manning (President & Co-Founder, Elsewhere), moderated by Lauren Murada (Regional Manager, North America, Resident Advisor).
